Gli Impressionisti arrivano a Como

Ciao tutti!

SlideShare

Hello everybody!

I just came across with the “YouTube” of the Power Points!!! It is called SlideShare From now on we can share also presentations in .ppt format or similar.

I was missing something like this on the net, so I already made my account and uploaded a small presentation, although it was uploaded with some mistakes. Anyway, the web might still not work perfectly but, considering that it is still in beta version, I find it very practical.

The Da Vinci Code

da vinci code

.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt wedding in Como

Rumors that Hollywood sweethearts Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt could marry on the shores of Lake Como this weekend have transformed even quiet Italian villagers into star-struck gossip fans.

The weeks-long speculation centers on the lakeside villa of Pitt’s friend and fellow actor George Clooney, where the couple are expected to arrive on Thursday or Friday, and the nearby luxury hotel of Villa d’Este, once a romantic hideaway for stars such as Ava Gardner and Frank Sinatra.

Brokeback Mountain

.
Finally I could manage to go to the cinema here in Italy, and I am so glad of the good choice, Brokeback Mountain.
Although right now I am missing a lot of cinema actuality, I had heard so much about Brokeback Mountain which has been very awarded and holds a long list of nominations to the Oscar awards. Let’s see…
The nominations are in the main categories, that are: best film, director, actors, actress, photography, adapted script and original soundtrack.

The music and photography are really good, even thought I do not like westerns, I found a great atmosphere. Ang Lee, director born in Taiwan, is very well know for films such as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, that got recognition in an Oscar edition some years ago.

What can I say about the cast! The two main actors are amazing in their different characters. They are Heath Ledger (in the role of Ennis del Mar) and Jake Gyllenhaal (in the role of Jack Twist), and besides their beauty, through their magnificence performance you can feel the emotions they show without needing words.

.
Basically, Lee is carefully telling a love story, that is a gay love story, what in the deep America of 60’s and 70’s means certainly a hidden love. Further, is a true love, long-lasting love, but impossible love. Two men living their stereotyped lives while loving each other in Brokeback Mountain.

A lot has been said about this film, even has been censured in some countries. Hopefully things are changing, might not all around the world, but at least in Spain homosexuality is currently treated better and better.

If you want to know more about, there is even a blog (in Spanish), either you can visit the official web page of Brokeback Mountain.

Internet Explorer 7 (Beta)

Hi everybody!!

I am very busy with exams but I wanted to tell you that Internet Explorer 7 is already available for trying (beta 2 version test). You can download for free, although right now is just working with Windows XP (Service Pack 2), they will widen the implementation shortly.

The main improved features are: new interface, tabbed browsing, search, RSS feed and security.
To those, like me, that normaly browse with Mozilla Firefox, you will realise that is just an imitation of its advantages. In my case, I use 90% firefox as a browser, mainly because de tabs thing, but it has broader features.

Enjoy the test!

VoipStunt

Me and you and everyone we know

me&you

Me and you and everyone we know is the title of last movie I have watched on the cinema. Despite my companion didn’t like it at all, I went out quite satisfied. This film is just what I was expecting. A different film, ok, let’s say is a very strange film, I like this kind of films, independent cinema.

I prefer unknown movies to these comercial ones that are showed specially on Christmas. And I could see it in English, which is very unusual in Zaragoza, as all films are doubled at cinema and if you want to find something in original version is better to look for in Madrid or Barcelona.

The writer, director and main character is the same person, Miranda July, who is a contemporary artist, and this can be noticed in her film.

The summary of the plot:

Me and You and Everyone We Know is a poetic and penetrating observation of how people struggle to connect with one another in an isolating and contemporary world. Christine Jesperson is a lonely artist and “Eldercab” driver who uses her fantastical artistic visions to draw her aspirations and objects of desire closer to her. Richard Swersey (John Hawkes), a newly single shoe salesman and father of two boys, is prepared for amazing things to happen. But when he meets the captivating Christine, he panics. Life is not so oblique for Richard’s seven-year-old Robby, who is having a risqué internet romance with a stranger, and his fourteen- year-old brother Peter who becomes the guinea pig for neighborhood girls— practicing for their future of romance and marriage.

In July’s modern world, the mundane is transcendent and everyday people become radiant characters who speak their innermost thoughts, act on secret impulses, and experience truthful human moments that at times approach the surreal. They seek together-ness through tortured routes and find redemption in small moments that connect them to someone
else on earth.
