today I wanted to speak about another exciting Business Game: e-Strat by L’Orèal. As 1st round results were out yesterday, I expected to tell you that my team had passed to the second round, but unfortunately it turned out that we are eliminated. Anyway, as it is said, the important thing is just to participate. 
The e-Strat competition is carried out online through an specific software, and each team has to submit its decisions bases on a huge quantity of data showed in tables and reports both of the company to be managed “Prima” and the competitors.
I like this game because it is very close to the reality and you are ask to make your choices in a wide range of fields: portfolio of products, brands, R & D, channels of distribution, production levels, price and promotions, etc.
The output is a quantitative index of performance (it is the only feasible way to classify more than 13.000 teams).
The competition takes place all over the world and it is tough, only around 10% of the teams are kept after the first round. This year was the 7th edition and the game is becoming more and more popular, I would recommend to all university (no matter degree) and MBA students to join for the next edition!
