In Budapest it is worthy to spend several days, so many things to see! I would like to explain in more detail but I left forgotten all the information in Spain. Anyway, I strongly recommend this destination.
So today I will show a bit of how was my second and third (and last) day in Budapest, and I will leave Prague to the following post.
8th March
So our second day was with quite good weather too, just a few clouds, and of course cold , but it let us to visit around a lot of places. First we went to the opera, and inside they were selling tickets, and by checking prices I realised it was very cheap, you cannot imagine! And moreover that night was “Carmen” great opera so we bought right then tickets for that night.
The day was just starting and we went down the most known street in Budapest, Andrassy Ut, must-see above all, that finishes in the Heroes Square, where is the tomb to the unknown soldier and the National Museum. By the way, the national Museum was holding an exposition of three Spanish painters.

After this, the city park, huge place with artificial lake, more museums and beautiful buildings. We rested a bit there but is not so enjoyable when there is snow everywhere!

We go on our way towards the other train station, in order to buy a ticket for Prague.
I was very annoyed because I had a fight with the window-seller, and as I result I couldn’t get any discounted ticket, so I had to pay more than 60 euros from Budapest to Prague (more than my plane return ticket, by the way).
This day we walked a lot around Pest, one of the beautiful places there is the Synagogue, it has also a small churchyard and a monument to the holocaust in shape of a metallic tree where each leaf has a victim name.

The opera in the night, just great!
9th March
That day was raining-snowing, everything was so grey… it was hard to stay in the street so hopefully we discover a huge commercial centre just round the corner! It was a bit hidden because the entrance was in the underground not easily reachable.
After wandering around the galleries, of course some shopping, we tried to visit the island that is in the middle of the Danube, called Marguerite Island. Actually it was a set of three islands that were joined and became a big amusement park and offers a lot of entertainment. Well, as usual, it was just white but in summer must be very nice.

That visit to Marguerite Island was on the bus, and the afternoon visit was on the tram, the weather didn’t allow us to walk.

In the evening we went to the cinema, and we enjoy Munich, by Steven Spielberg, which I liked a lot.
