Hi all!
I know I have not been writing for several days, what does not means that nothing has happened. On the contrary, I have been busy and as far as I see now, this whole year is going to be rather busy and complicated (regarding lessons I mean).
I skip my travel to Spain to start speaking about my studies, the Master of Science in Management Engineering. Anyway, I will tell you about Spain soon.
I missed the Welcome day that was held here on Friday, so I missed a lot of explanations about the university dependences and the university life, I am discovering them these days anyway, but meanwhile I feel kind of lost sometimes.
This first semester I am coursing three subjects. If you are thinking that it is “only” 3 subjects, forget it, they are itself like a whole master, I mean that they required a lot of work, homework also, including projects, researches, case studies and so on. The amount of lessons is 8 hours per subject, so I will be in class 24 hours per week.
The teaching system is very different to the Spanish one, or at least to the system I was used to. We have each subject during four hours, twice a week, that is all my schedule. Simple for remembering, at least.
My lessons started on Monday 3rd with “Marketing” in the morning and followed with “Quality management of processes and products”, although I arrived two hours late because of enrolment arrangements.
I already have some homework for next week, which includes thee sheets of exercises-just to know the average knowledge- whose answers I have no idea. I don’t remember anything of economics, statistics and I did never studied logistics, so I am scared, I will give it back in white…
Other thing that scared me are the oral examinations… you know my speaking English is really bad… I would not feel prepared even for an oral examination for the English language, and I will have to explain myself in terms that I rarely know!!
Ok, let’s see it as an opportunity of learning the language at the same time as preparing the university exams.
The third and last but not least subject is “Management and Marketing of Innovation”. And is going to be specially hard, because of the project we have to carry out, and because one part of the final qualifications comes from class participation… you know, explain and develop your ideas in public. I feel so shy!
But this is only the beginning, maybe this post seems kind of negative, but I must also tell that I am very excited and that I really love what I am going to study. At the end I guess it will be fine.
Greetings from the campus of Como
