I wrote this post while staying at the workcamp and now I want to dedicate it to my partners and from now, new friends.
18 august
Hello everybody!
Less than two days left for the workcamp to finish…
In these days I have had lots of good moments, and others not so good, but now, when I see that this is finishing, I start to feel sorrowful. You know, I have already been in tree more workcamps, and this four time I thought that it was going to be different, more cold. But well, I was wrong, now I realize that I feel affection, although we are different, although sometimes I cannot express myself because of the language limitation. Each one of you is great.
Pierre and Marie (France), Rikki (Spain), Hitomi and Jumpei (Japan), Anne and Nina (Germany), Julia (Russia), David (Czech Republic) and Jana (Slovakia), you know that you have a new Spanish friend, and I would like to have news of everybody.
I am very sorry for not being able to express myself better in English, now I can tell more than ever that I want to improve my English. I will try to improve German too, but, you know, it is much more difficult for me.
Since I started to write posts for my blog I wanted to mix my mother tongue Spanish with English, it requires an effort, but it is worth and now even more because I expect my new friends of the workcamp to follow my Historia de una.
I know that this is not finished yet, but I want to dedicate some words for each of them:
Pierre
When you left us this afternoon, you have left emptiness here. It was great to meet you at the train station, when we did not know anyone else. Here, you are the best with the kids, I admire your work here, and the kids love you, the way of saying you goodbye by the kids has been beautiful, I could not help crying.
Do not stop learning Spanish, from now I expect meeting you in my blog and be sure I will visit yours, but I hope to see you again in Paris or wherever. Until then, I will remember you every time I wear our hat.
Marie
You are beautiful, and this time it is not a joke. I see you as sensitive as me, at least I am not going to be the only one who cries in saying goodbye to the others. Thank you for being so, and for the joy you have brought here. I also admire your work with the kids, the effort that you and Pierre have done, you are good and hard workers!!
Rikki
I will tell you more words in Spanish, much easier for me. But here I can say that from the moment I met you in our city before coming here, I knew that you are a great person. It is funny because, you know, you and me are opposite in so many things…preferences, music, studies… but here it does not matter, for me you has been the best Spanish guy for staying here with me. With you we could never have silence! (It was a joke).
Hitomi
You are very nice, I am very happy with my Japanese friend, I think that you became a kind of little sister for me here in Germany. We have get on well from the first moment, now I know that sometimes you do not need too many words to connect and have a good time together. Knowing you has been wonderful, so many different things from your land. I really wish to meet you again, but this time in Japan. I am going to miss drinking with you, Hitomi!!
Jumpei
What an interesting Japanese guy! How can you be so polite, asking permission for almost everything? Well, I am very proud to be able to introduce Spain to you. You are very brave for making your travel around Europe on your own. I have had a good time talking with you these days, and we have laughed a lot. Thank you for Japanese meals, and for your Japanese tattoo, it was great!
Anne
I hope this workcamp to have been a good experience for you, and you feel like repeating as a campleader more times! Thank you for your help before coming here, and for everything else!
Nina
You have the most beautiful smile. I do not know what we would have done if you had not come to the workcamp. Thank you for your patient in translating German to English all the time, I would like to have as good English as you. And thanks also for smiling all the time!
Julia
Meeting a Russian girl has been very nice. I did not know until knowing you, but Russians and Spanish people are rather similar, at least here you have been like the third Spanish. Thank you for showing us your country so well, and for standing almost tree days crossing by bus Europe for coming here! Nobody can get so good Spanish in half an hour but you, (do you remember when we prepared that speech, which was successful at the end?).
David
Fist of all, thank you for bringing here your laptop, for me it has been very useful you know, and also thanks for what you did in the ICE train!
Without you (and without our “party tonight”) this workcamp would not have been the same. I think that we have some hobbies and other things in common. I am already missing your way of speaking English (and also Spanish), your way of dancing (from cha cha to hip hop), I like them so much! It is a pleasure that you want to stay in Spain in the future. From now, I hope to meet you by the “World Wide Web” but I really would like to meet you again by travelling.
Jana
We have slept on the same mat for two weeks with a scissors between us! (It was funny because both of us thought that it was the other’s scissor and why the hell did not pick it up!) I think that you are the person who have understood me the best, and I am very pleased of having found a so kind and nice person here. And so good at cooking! I will not smoke anymore because you are not going to be with me! I wish you the best, you deserve it, and please write to tell me.
